Now the picture quality it’s as promised of 2K, it’s easy to install, easy to connect to the ecosystem, has a good motion detection. This are the pros. The cons are that you really have to play with the functions if you don’t want to be bothered at the slightest movement form the street (I leave on a main road with intense traffic). The app isn’t so intuitive as it is for the indoor cameras for example so if you’re not so handy with the technology…it’s going to be difficult to set it up. Although it has a slight lag, the connectivity on the wi-fi it’s good and stable, but after all the lag can be also from my internet provider. After all, it’s a good value for money and if you are interested about purchasing a monthly subscription from Tapo is ok, but if you don’t fancy this though then you have the option to mount a micro SD card but you won’t have the video’s available for 30 days as you can have them with the monthly subscription.

I bought this door camera and bell to complement my existing Tapo cameras and Tapo smart plugs. The camera was very easy to fix to my wooden front door and was very easy to set up using the Tapo app.The camera has great picture and video quality and if you are using a micro SD card in it you can store your recordings. It has lots of adjustments/functions that can be changed through the app that can be tailored to suit your needs, I have set it up to only record when the door bell it pressed so it will save a bit of it’s battery life, up to now it’s only dropped to 85% after playing around with it setting it up and using it for nearly a month. It’s a great door camera and worth the money.

Very easy to set up in the Tapo app, I already have a number of TP Link products so only took a few seconds to add this to my network. Picture quality is pretty good in the 2k mode but not quite as good in 360 so I’d recommend setting it just to 2k rather than Auto or 360. The night vision is also very good, I have mine set to put the lights on if the doorbell is pushed but IR at other times when it’s dark.Initially I thought battery life was a problem as it chomped though the charge during the first few hours whilst I was configuring and testing (AKA mucking about with it) but now it’s installed I’m seeing the charge drop by about 1-2% per day. I don’t have many triggers as I have a side entrance, a few deliveries maybe plus me going in and out a few times per day is fairly typical and I’m getting 6 or 7 recordings per day but if yours faces out onto a busy road you’ll see the battery drop much faster. I’ve set clip length to 90 seconds maximum because battery life isn’t a massive concern.Viewing and down loading clips is easy via the app and the ability to speak via the door unit is pretty useful. Internal door chime comes in the box and is only just OK. Turned up to max volume I can hear it around the house but one for downstairs and one for upstairs would be better. These also connected to my wi-fi network easily.I’ve not subscribed to the cloud storage option and have gone with a 64gb micro SD card which will store hours of clips so you don’t need anything larger unless you have massive footfall that gets recorded. Ensure you get an adequately rated card, many cheaper ones aren’t suitable for video streaming nor can they survive very cold or hot temperatures, I went for a Samsung 64gb Pro Endurance which ticked all the boxes and was £12. The TP Link cloud isn’t too expensive at £2.99 per month for 1 device, £5.49 for 2, £7.99 for 3 or 8.99 for up to 10 devices and adds peace of mind should anyone steal the doorbell and the memory card within. It does sound an alarm and disable the reset if it’s removed from the wall but once it’s out of range of your wi-fi you can’t retrieve images from a card whereas the cloud is still accessible.Probably not quite as good picture quality as a Ring and the unit is a bit chunkier but it’s quite a bit cheaper and certainly the images are good enough to identify someone if needed.

I’ve been using the TP-Link TD21 doorbell for a few weeks now, and it has completely transformed the way I monitor my front door. The installation process was simple and straightforward, even for someone with minimal DIY experience. The video quality is crystal clear, both during the day and at night, thanks to its excellent night vision capabilities. The two-way audio works perfectly, allowing me to communicate with visitors easily, whether I’m at home or away.I also love how seamlessly it integrates with my home Wi-Fi and TP-Link’s app. The notifications are prompt, and I can quickly view who’s at the door in real-time. The motion detection is accurate, and I appreciate the customizable sensitivity settings to avoid unnecessary alerts.Overall, the TP-Link TD21 is a reliable, feature-packed smart doorbell at an affordable price. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their home security!

Easy to install, great picture and sound quality. Setting up was a slight pain as it disconnected half way through but once set up no issues at all. Will be getting the cctv cameras to go with it.

If you want that bit of extra security on your door, but font want to bother with subscription, then this is ideal. Easy enough to connect to your WiFi & phone and easy enough to mount at your door. There are a few options for that. Good clear images, you can look in real time and converse too. You may need to subscribe to converse away from home, I don’t know. It had a wide lens and so, good coverage. I use a SanDisk Micro SD card, I got the largest one it could take, everything is stored locally and can be downloaded. I recommend formatting it often if you have no footage you wish to keep, though it does overwrite on a loop. You can do this remotely. Battery life is quite long too. You’ll need to adjust settings and notifications if they become too intrusive, but that can be done on the app.Hope this helps..
